Merry Christmas!
This was a quick cold session at Zuma Beach on the drive north to Ventura on Christmas Eve. It was rainy and stormy the whole drive up, when we took the coast highway up through Malibu we could see perfect little south windswell bumps with a cold offshore wind blowing. Zuma was 1-2 feet and perfect shape, too small for surfing, but nice conditions to go for a quick bodysurf and take some shots. There was not much light out, so I was playing around with slower shutter speeds and got this shot below that I liked. Rather than freezing the action quickly, this allows the lip and wave to blur across the frame and create a different look.

Bros
Matt and Jake came down for a few days to sample the waves, women and tacos of San Diego. Unfortunately, the North Pacific storm track decided to drop down and visit as well. Not to be the type to sit around indoors, we got out into some of the most windy, stormy conditions I have ever witnessed, let alone paddled out in. We had a few good survival surfing sessions, then got a few fun waves once the storm passed (pictured).
Walking up the Beacons Trail
Bird, knocking the top off.
And again wrapping the roundhouse.

Morning Waves
Another booty full morning in Carlsbad, sunny, light offshore conditions, and a few fun waves rolling through. These were taken after a quicky morning session, I was in a hurry to get out there and catch a few, then came back in a wandered the cliffs for a while. Needless to say, I was a little late to work this morning.
